The Painter Edmundas Kartanas Color Philosophy in Painting Canvases Painter Edmundas Kartanas lives and works in Lithuania. Painter Edmundas Kartanas is not only a painter, he is a film and theater actor, and a host of various events. Currently, he spends a lot of time in his own studio, where he teaches young people and adults the secrets of painting. He has held a number of personal exhibitions in Lithuania, participated in collective exhibitions abroad and in Lithuania, and his works are published in foreign magazines. He has been collaborating with the Public Institution “Gabrielės meno galerija” for several years. The author of the painting secrets studied with the famous artist Antanas Obcarskas, in the studio “Antaniniai obuuliai” founded by him.His paintings are inscribed in the context of Lithuanian art, balancing between the boundaries of realistic and abstract painting. E. Kartanas’ paintings are constantly changing and evolving. Initially, he was interested in and created traditional portraits and landscapes, and many of his paintings are created on mannerist themes. The philosophy of colors and the change of expressive forms are of great importance in the author’s work. E. Kartanas does not limit himself to aesthetics or philosophy of colors in his work, he invites the viewer to a dialogue.The author’s paintings can be studied as interpretations of nature. The play of shapes and colors is important in each of his canvases of various formats.
