Professional painter Nijolė Mečkovskaja lives and works in Trakai, Lithuania. She graduated from the Kaunas University of Arts with a specialization in ceramics. Later, she continued her studies at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, obtaining a higher university education, a bachelor's degree in art pedagogy and fine arts, and a teaching qualification. Currently, painter Nijolė Mečkovskaja works at the Trakai Art School. Since 2023, the painter has been actively interested in various art techniques and styles, holding solo exhibitions in Lithuania and participating in plein airs. Nijolė Mečkovskaja is a Lithuanian painter working in the fields of abstract and realistic painting. Coloristic painting holds an important place in her work. N. Mečkovskaja's work is inspired by Lithuanian natural landscapes. In her artistic Lithuanian landscapes, the artist pays great attention to expressive form, color, texture, and pictorial space on the canvas. Bright nature impressions, inner states, various interpretations of natural landscapes dominate Mečkovskaja's canvases. The artist's paintings are characterized by vivid, sometimes muted colors. In the paintings of N. Mečkovskaja, the expression of color gamut and the connection with abstract art are particularly important. In the compositions of the artist's paintings, silences, lights, rhythms, brushwork, and the silence felt as freedom in the canvases are crucial. The constant search for themes is palpable in her work.
